​Why should I get custom fit? 
Golf is a difficult enough sport to master, so why not gain every advantage that you can by ensuring the the equipment you purchase is made to measure your game. This gives you the best opportunity to get the most out of your golf game and ensure that when you spend your hard earned money, it is on clubs that give you the greatest chance of improvement and success along the way. Even a small gain is a gain in the right direction, why leave it to risk.

How much does custom fitting cost? 
Let us make this clear from the outset. If you pay for custom fitting through Mission Golf Academy and you purchase your chosen club, or clubs at Clarkes Golf Centre then you will get the cost you paid for the custom fitting deducted from the total price you pay. In short, custom fitting is FREE once you buy your shiny new, perfectly fit golf club(s). 

How will custom fitting help me? 
Custom fitting is proven to bring the best out of your golf game regardless of handicap or ability. There are gains to be made when the equipment you use works in unison for your type of golf swing:
Greater accuracy and increased distance brought about by better control of your golf ball. This improved consistency inspires more confidence and that goes hand in hand with lower scoring during your rounds. Ultimately, when all of this starts to improve you get more enjoyment out of the game. 

How long do I need to book for custom fitting?
This is entirely down to how many clubs or category of clubs you are wishing to review. 
We have designed 3 simple custom fitting tiers to try and make this process as easy as possible: 
  • Tier 1 - For the player who is considering one club or category [Such as driver, fairway wood or hybrid]. This will take approximately 60 minutes to complete. 
  • Tier 2 - For the player who is considering changing multiple clubs or categories [such as a full set of Irons, Wedges, Woods or Hybrids]. This will take approximately 90 minutes to compete. 
  • Tier 3 - For the player who wants to 'go through the bag' and check all clubs from Driver through fairway woods and hybrids then onto Irons and down to wedges [does not include putter as this is a specialism on its own]. This will take approximately 2 hours to complete. 

What does custom fitting involve?
Custom fitting through Mission Golf Academy at Clarkes Golf Centre ensures that no stone is unturned in helping to provide you the premium fitting package in the area. 
The process is broken down into several parts and Flightscope [Doplar radar technology] is utilised throughout: 
  1. We gather information on your game and details of you requirements and goals.  
  2. We take measurements of you physically so that we can tailor your clubs accordingly
  3. Tests are then taken on your existing clubs and set up and the data explained using Flightscope. 
  4. By working with you, and the requirements you set at the start, we select clubs that fit your swing & data and consider things such as head type, the 'MOI' [Moment of Inertia which is forgiveness], the 'COG' [Centre of Gravity] and 'COG Location', the head material and any offset of the club head. 
  5. Shafts are selected to suit your swing [considering shaft weight, torque, shaft flex and material] 
  6. Once we have the shaft type and club head we move onto tailoring it for you to make sure the shaft length, lie angle and lofts of the clubs all fall into line to get even distances throughout the golf bag. 
  7. Finally, we help you select the right type of grip and grip size to get the most from your game.
